DAUPHIN COUNTY CEMETERY DATABASE
We hope you enjoy this website and invite you to visit it
often.
The last meeting of the Capital Area
Genealogical Society was held in November 2014. This website
containing our Dauphin County cemetery database and many other useful research
documents and genealogic information is now sponsored by Ladly, Ltd. and maintained for future use by
all. The "Suggested Web Sites" page is updated several times a year,
with the newest additional links added in March 2023. The contact
for this website is Robin G. Lighty at

The Capital Area Genealogical Society was formed in 1982 to
foster genealogical research in Dauphin and Cumberland Counties,
Pennsylvania. The objective of the Society was to create and foster
an interest in genealogy, encourage the preservation of genealogical
materials, and to publish a quarterly journal. Our research and
educational outreach related mostly to the counties of Dauphin and
Cumberland in Pennsylvania. The Society's extensive quarterly
journal "Keystone Seekers" was published from 1983 through 2004. A
library of more than 400 books and items of family history and gravesite
information was accumulated, and in 2014 it was donated to the Paxtang
Historical Society and is now permanently stored at the Paxton
Presbyterian Church in Paxtang. In addition to monthly meetings with
guest speakers, various activities of a historical and genealogical nature
were conducted, such as field trips to other cities, annual events at the
PA State Museum, and participating in cemetery tours. We are sad
that the Society no longer meets or publishes a journal, but the CAGS
library still exits and this continuously updated website is still provided to the public.
We hope you find them useful.
